I finally finished Peeps. It was amazing. Go read it. Now. Because I said so.
And it's super interesting. And educational, even if it is really fictional.
Cuz there's non-fiction crap in there, too.
Yeah, I'm totally afraid to eat any meat ever again (not like I'm wild about it in the first palce) and I never wanna get anywhere near a tropical river. More or less pee in one. And bugs seem and ponds seem like even scarier places now. But I can't spend the rest of my life in a bubble. And even before I read about all these disgusting parasites nothing ever happened. But still. Ew.
So now that I spoiled some of that book for you, I'm going to tell you all about my day, starting with science class.
First of all, I had to do my take-home quiz thing for that class on the bus and I can guarantee that I got a lousy grade on it because I was barely awake which means I wasn't thinking or seeing right. So, because I had to finish that on the bus, I had to skip my daily nap. So I was still pretty exhausted and crap.
Then about 20 minutes into class I got realllllllyyyyy sleepy and we were taking notes and crud which meant that the lights were off. So I nearly fell asleep while doing that which wouldn't have been good. Then we turned the lights back on and I managed to keep my eyeballs open for another 20 minutes or so. Then my teacher turned the lights back off again to watch some weather reporting video thing and so i got to take a nice little 15 minute nap. But while I was napping apparently she went over some crud that's going to be on our meteorology test. So now I guess I'll get those particular questions wrong. Oh well.
That pretty much sums up the most exciting part of my day. Not like anyone cares.
Soooooo....
I am going to discuss my favorite albums of 2007. Why? Because I just saw something in a magazine about the top 10 albums of 2007 and those people have serious issues when it comes to music tastes.
10. Infinity on High-Fall Out Boy

Fall Out Boy was a fantastic band. Key word:was. They're too obsessed with money and fame these days and their style is totally changing. Not that they aren't still a pretty decent band and all. They just aren't as fantastic as they were. This isn't one of those albums where you cheat yourself by skipping a track. Some of them are meant to be skipped. But there are good ones too, don't get me wrong. Like Thnks Fr Th Mmrs for example. It's one of those songs that makes you wanna dance, but not all of them are so perky.
9. So Wrong, It's Right-All Time Low

I really don't know this band too well, but they seem pretty well put together. From what I can decipher-considering I have yet to hear all the songs from this album considering the fact that I have yet to get it-their songs have meaning. Plus they're all pretty cute. Always a good thing.
8. Santi-The Academy Is...

Okay, here's where it started to get tough. I wanted to put so many of them closer to the top but I couldn't. So, unfortunately, TAI ended up at number 8. But they're still pretty good. They have really perky songs that make you wanna dance like LAX to O'Hare, but they also have cute little romantic slower songs like Everything We Had, which also has a cute little video. All in all, way cool. You should totally ask Santa for this one.
7. The Makeout Scene-Amber's Diary

I'll bet you that you've never heard of this one, or even the band itself. They're a pretty small band from the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania, and technically this isn't even an album, its an EP. And even more unfortunate, they just broke up recently, due to some of the members pursuing college. I saw their last show in Allentown the day after Thanksgiving. Unfortunately that's the only time I got to see them, but they said they'd try to get everything sorted out within 2 months. I hope so, they're so nice! Anyway, about the album/EP/whatever. It's awesome, even though I still have yet to get my copy. As usual. But I've come to the decision that it's way cool. Although I doubt you could really find it anywhere. Sorry.
6. In Defense of the Genre-Say Anything

Another album I have yet to buy. But Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance sings in the song In Defense of the Genre, therefore the whole album is awesome. Also, Hayley Williams of Paramore and Adam Lazzara of Taking Back Sunday provide some guest vocals for various songs. Do me a favor and get me this one for Christmas, I need it.
5. Bend to Break-The Color Fred

Taking Back Sunday fans, you've definitely heard of this one. Fred Mascherino, ex-guitarist of Taking Back Sunday (who I saw over the summer!!) has been working on this solo project while still playing in TBS. Now he has left the band in order to pursue this solo project, which rocks. A lot of the songs can get kind of mushy, but it's still really good. Perky, too. I like perky music.
4. Lies for the Liars-The Used

Okay, so the cover of this one might not be appealing to everyone. But if you know anything about The Used, the weird thing on the cover is Chadam. Go read his story, there's a link somewhere on The Used's myspace. But despite that minor creepiness, the album is still amazing, along with the hidden track, Quesadilla. (spelling?) A lot of them can get all mushy at parts,-particularly Smother Me- but they still have meaning. And there are perky ones too, as usual. Slow ones too, but every album has some slow songs.
3. Riot!-Paramore

I hope everyone has heard of this one, or at least the single Misery Business, thanks to MTV. Despite all the fame and attention Paramore is receiving, they aren't completely changing their style like Fall Out Boy is. Plus, Hayley's hair is makes me wanna go out and dye mine bright orange too. It's awesome. They have an occasional slow number, along with perky ones that make you wanna dance (particularly Fences). Go buy it. Now.
2. Bone Palace Ballet-Chiodos

If you have listened to anything from Chiodos' first album, All's Well That Ends Well, and then listened to Bone Palace Ballet, you will certainly notice a difference in the two. In my opinion since the release of their first album, Chiodos has certainly grown and changed as a band. Not that I don't like the pre-Bone Palace Ballet days, but they sound so excellent on the newer album. Firstly, Craig Owens-lead singer-certainly does a lot more screaming in the first. In almost every song you'll hear him screaming his lungs out. Not that I'm against it, I'm jsut saying. On the 2nd album, you will still hear some of it, but not in every single track. Also, some of the songs get slower and more mushy, but they certainly don't lack meaning. This is one of those albums that you cheat yourself if you skip a track. Go listen to it. Now. All of it.
Drum roll please...
1. Mistakes-A Hero From A Thousand Paces

(couldn't find an album cover for this one)
A Hero From A Thousand Pancakes? Nooo. A Hero From A Thousand Places? Yeah, tough one to remember, but mostly referred to as Hero. They're a small-but-getting-bigger band from New Jersey, although most of the members seem to be anywhere but there right now. They're one of the most crowd-friendly bands I have ever met. And, yes, this album is mostly about a relationship gone very wrong, but you can really feel the pain behind the lyrics. That sounded cheesy, yes, but it's true. No, they aren't emo. Everyone goes through crap like that in their life so shut your face about the emo crap.
(sorry if the pictures are really big. not my fault, honest.)
Now that I gave you a nice little list of music that's actually good, go to FYE and buy all of the albums mentioned above. Now. Because I said so.
And now it's time for one of the wonderful facts that is packed into my brain!
DID YOU KNOW
Parasites are probably the most fascinating creatures I have ever read about?
Not really a fact, but whatever.
They're really interesting.
Bye!
(sorry stupid blogger cut off half of the covers on most of those)
